Where it goes

What your gift funds

In 2026, the Foundation's giving is focused and direct: the Oil Baron's Classic benefits Brian Clepp and the family of Omar Mendiola. As the Foundation grows, giving expands to scholarships for the next generation of the workforce and community investment grants across South Texas.

The board serves without compensation, which keeps overhead low. Payment processing and real operating costs still exist, and we account for them honestly rather than claiming every dollar passes straight through.

Your receipt & tax deduction

South Texas Energy Foundation is a Texas nonprofit corporation recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3). EIN 42-2246410. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Where you receive something of value in return — a seat at the event, tournament entry, a sponsored table — only the amount above the fair market value of those goods and services is deductible. Your receipt states both figures.

The Foundation does not provide tax advice. Consult your tax professional about your particular situation.
